Antonis Maros

antonis_maros.jpg

I am a multidisciplinary artist with a background in social and political sciences. My practice involves performance, mixed-media installations and collaborative art making. Focusing on notions of identity, exclusion, and confinement, I turn personal narratives into scripts and scores to challenge dynamics of power and create possibilities of togetherness.

My research involves a wide range of collaborative practices including object-centred, relational and dialogical methods. Collaboration is used as a tactic to enrich and sustain artistic practice within the current challenging socio-political and economic conditions. In this spirit, I founded Transition Lands to explore cross-cultural collaborative modes of practice and creative coalitions between scholars, art practitioners, educators, and prisoners aiming to tackle exclusionary forms of injustice.
